Night out at Beluga's Bawtry

Sat 16th Feb 2008

Its been a while since we all got together, it was a shame Dave and Karen couldnt make it,
The food was excellent as usual, There isnt a menu as such , David just tells you whats on the menu and asks you how you would like it cooking, we had duck Terrine to die for as a pre starter, by the time the starters had come we had already had 4 bottles of wine between 6 people!!
Then I had Chickens Liver, that was so tastey too, and to follow Fillet steak with a foie gras and truffle sauce....mmmm... i can still taste it, then followed by A home made creme brulee.
The entertainment was a bit OTT it was the table next door , one of the guys decided to have a sing along , we joined in a little or should I say sharon did loads!!
well here are a few snaps!
Keith and Sharon above, then things got out of had the guy on the next table decided to take his clothes off and wear toilet paper as a nappy and sing at the top of his voice!

The Vegetable plot

Sunday 10th Feb 2008

we are hoping to become a little more self sufficient so our farmer has ploughed us a section of the field. The rotavator struggled to get through it. Dean is spending many of hours digging, I do feel real sorry for him.

We are fencing it off to keep the horses out and we also need to keep the rabbits out, I think some chicken wire is needed.

The green house is eventually up and glazed, I now have some Garlic growing and also some potatoes.

There is still alot of work to be done! I spent most of my time playing with the horses, it was so warm we took the rugs off and they went naked for the day, they both enjoyed a good scratch on the nearby tree and a good roll, they are now black and covered in mud.

Meet at Pelhams Pillar

Wed 30th January 2008

Pelhams Pillar
Dean and Kirsty went hunting with the Brockelsby Hunt, It was a cold start, with sausage rolls and Cherry brandy. We made an entrance that no one would forget we got the Horse Lorry stuck and we had to get a tractor to pull us out, Chris and I followed in the car as I'm still not able to ride due to my bad back, it was nice to see the Hunts men in Scarlet, other hunts have chosen to wear tweeds after the hunting ban. We saw Charlie quite often, but the false cent was doing its job and keeping them on the trail.
I saw David Melton and his mum, they where both well although David had filled out a lot and lost his front teeth, his mum still looked the same as she did when I was little.
We didn’t see much of Dean and Kirsty as the woods are quite dense, Solly tiered first as then did Hammy although she still had the energy to jog home. Surprisingly they came home quite clean just a bit sweaty.

The hounds where thirsty so they stopped for a drink! Yuk !
Spot Kirsty and Dean LOL !

The horses on their return looked quite tired!

The lorry being pulled out with a tractor, how
embarrassing.

January floods

January Floods

We had rather alot of rain again in January, most people in scotter still have not got over the floods in June of last year so wen the waters rose again they where very worried.

Photo's below but they are a bit dark as they were taken at 4pm. It doesnt really look any thing but this River isnt a river its just a small ditch, I will try to get a photo of it now so you can see the differnce.
