AREA TRIALS AT BURGHLEY
Poor Soli was out again competing 3rd week on the trot!
The dressage didnt go as well, Angus had asked me to give her a bit more food just in case the busy schedule would take its toll.
Well Soli was full of beans, a little tense and because of this Angus had to really ride every minute, he went wrong in his test but hey she still came away with a very good score.
The Showjumping was a fantastic round, it was on a surface with plastic fences, which were being blown off in the wind and causing mayhem. Soli didn't touch a pole and jumped in a lovely rhythm.
She Cleared the first fence by a spare foot!
The next fence shown here she cleared by a foot and half!
the last fence was the same, just a breeze to her!
Then there was the XC to do, an hour and half wait, the course was tough, ditches , drops, skinnys not to for get the cominations that were added, it was more like a BE Novice course.
She went clear right up untill the second to last fence, the water with a roll top in and a bounce and skinny out, the roll top and water wasnt a problem, but the skinny just confused her, I think it was the colour of the fence aswell as the narrowness of it not forgetting the one stride out the water, it proved a little too much for her so she picked up 40 penaltys with 2 refusals. If she had gone clear she would have come in 3rd, but we where all very pleased with her.

One Day Event Peterboro'
I woke at 5.30am had some breaky to keep baby happy then went out to feed and plait up Soli, Hammy I had done the night before as I know she's a good girl and doesn't rub them out! Soli on the other had is a pest.
I woke Dean at 7am!!! by some miracle he was straight out of bed with no moaning about being tired,(he came to bed at 1.45am) Idiot!!!
that put us ahead of time and a good job too, the Lorry didn't start!!!!! after blowing the fuse on the extension lead and recking the tack room for another one what was the one plugged into the washer, we managed with a jump starter pack and a call to Graham who built the lorry we where finally on our way to meet Angus at Caenby Corner to go to Peterborough.
We arrive at the show after going through various rain storms, the weather wasn't looking promising. Dean and Angus walked the XC course and I stayed at the box to get the horses ready.
Both neddies are so close Friends they even are happy to hug together by the Lorry.
Soli was first to go in the dressage, she did a nice test considering the ground was up and down dale and she is such a big horse to hold together.
The view of Elton Hall made it a nice setting, but the ground was hard and it had rained which made the ground quite slippy even with studs in.
Dean videoed the tests and I took a few stills but when it was Hammys turn the battery on the still camera ran out ! Derrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
So it was back to the mobile camera which wasn't fantastic! Hammy did a very nice test too, very accurate, this put her in the lead, yes she was beating Soli!!!!
Soli did her show jumping and just knocked a pole, it was a very nice round, very in rhythm, but she did get a few time faults.
Hammys round was quite as good, the weather was not kind the ground was wet, she had already had a stop in the practice ring, she stopped at fence three, and knocked every pole there after, she wasn't happy, (I didn't watch i couldn't, it made me nervous) saw it on the video later tho'
After a very short debate Angus and I decided that Hammy wouldn't go cross County, it was best for both horse and rider for them to retire in one piece as the XC was very tough!
The out come of the day was that Soli had a hesitation at a ditch which was very unfortunate and she finished on a score of 91.1 which left her 4th .

Winterton show - Sharon & Ellie in the float parade
We set off after seeing to the horses to Winterton show, the weather was appalling, Sharon and Ellie were on the Float parade and we just had to see Sharon on a float!
We arrived £8.00 to get in! it was chucking it down with rain so i spent the first hour in the flower tent making my mind up which was the best display. I liked the one from Scotland and Japan.
We met Keith and Emma, Emma wasn't to impressed with the weather as she had to stay in her push chair in the dry, I can tell you i wish i was under there it looked toasty and warm, in between the showers we took a short walk round the show while we waited for the float to arrive.
